I am achieving the best results using a separate amp sim than the one provided (my favorite is Kuassa's Cerebrus, but others will work). If you're a good keyboard player with a strong left hand you can play this all live, but for folks like me you can tweak and fine-tune things in your DAW's MIDI editor to tweak it so that listeners would be hard pressed to know its not a real bass. The selection of bass models and tones is more than enough for any genre, but the icing on the bass is the MIDI modifiers that are available for slides, bends, mutes, harmonics, etc. The result is so good that I will likely use it for bass guitar on many of my future recordings instead of a real D.I.'ed bass + plug-in or hardware amp sims. I've gotten pretty good at it, but thought I'd give MODO Bass a try based on positive reviews. So when I'm recording my songs, I do the best I can to get solid bass. I'm a decent bass player, but don't have high end equipment.
